What we collect

When you write to us, join our list, or start a project with us, you may share: your name, your email address, your company name, and any other details you choose to include in your message.

When you browse the Site, a few technical details are gathered in the background:

  • IP address and device type

  • browser and operating system version

  • how you got here (referral URL)

  • which pages you visited and for how long

  • aggregate traffic data that does not identify you personally

We do not collect sensitive data, and we never ask for financial information through the Site.

Why we use it

We use your information only to:

  • reply to your messages and requests

  • understand how visitors interact with the Site

  • improve the content, structure and speed of our pages

  • keep the Site secure and running properly

  • send you updates, only if you have subscribed

The legal basis for each of these: your consent, when you subscribe to updates; our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the Site; and legal obligations, where the law requires us to keep certain records.

We rely on two tools: Framer, the platform the Site is built and hosted on, and Brevo, which powers the signup form and the messages we send you. Both comply with the GDPR.

Who we share it with, and how we protect it

We never sell, rent or trade your personal data. Not ever.

We share certain data with the service providers that help us operate: hosting, analytics, the email platform. They access strictly what they need and are bound by contract to firm confidentiality terms.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. But no online system is one hundred percent secure — so we encourage caution whenever you send sensitive information, anywhere on the internet.

Cookies

This Site does not place tracking cookies on your device. We have no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and we do not follow you from one site to another.

Here is what actually happens:

  • Traffic statistics — we use the analytics built into Framer, the platform the Site runs on. It counts visits without cookies and without identifying anyone in particular.

  • Language preference — when you choose Romanian or English, your browser remembers the choice so we don't have to ask again next time. It is stored locally, on your device, and never reaches us.

  • The signup form — it is provided by Brevo. When you use it, their privacy policy applies as well.

Because we use no tracking cookies, we don't ask for your consent through a banner. If that ever changes — say, if we add a more detailed analytics tool — you will be asked before, not after.

You can clear locally stored data at any time from your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it:

  • until we have answered your message

  • for the duration of an ongoing project

  • as long as required for legal, financial or administrative obligations

Once it is no longer relevant, we securely delete or anonymise it.

If you subscribed to updates, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe — and the unsubscribe link is in every message we send you.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you and to decide what happens to it. Concretely, you can ask at any time for:

  • access — to find out what data we hold about you

  • rectification — to correct anything inaccurate

  • erasure — to have it removed from our records

  • restriction — to limit what we do with it

  • portability — to receive it in a format you can take elsewhere

  • objection — to object to processing based on our legitimate interest

  • withdrawal of consent — at any time, with no explanation owed to anyone

For any of these, write to us at note@lafar.ro. We answer within 30 days at the latest.

If you feel we have not respected your rights, you may contact the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) — www.dataprotection.ro. You can do this at any time. If you prefer, write to us first — it usually resolves more easily than it seems.

Links to other sites

The Site may contain links to websites, tools or resources that are not ours — partners we work with, platforms where our work appears, services we mention.

Once you have left us, we no longer have any control. Those sites have their own privacy policies, their own cookies and their own data collection practices. We recommend reading them before leaving personal information there.

Updates to this policy

Privacy doesn't stand still. Neither does our business. As tools, services or regulations change, we update this policy too.

When we do, the new version appears on this page, with the date updated at the top. We won't fill your inbox with announcements, but we invite you to glance at it now and then.

If you keep using the Site after an update, it means you agree to the most recent version. If something seems unclear, write to us.

Talk to us

Privacy can be confusing. If you're not sure what happens to your data — or you just want to double-check something — that's what we're here for.

You can write to us with questions, with data access requests, or with anything else related to this policy. We take every request seriously and answer as quickly and as transparently as we can.
